St. Vincents University Hospital Psychiatry
St. Vincent’s University Hospital is the major acute teaching hospital serving the south-east of Dublin city. The hospital provides acute in-patient psychiatric services for a population of almost 100,000, in addition to specialist psychiatry of old age, eating disorders and peri-natal services to a wider catchment.
In 1997, the hospital commissioned STW to prepare a Development Control Plan to guide the development of the hospital, which included the co-location of acute psychiatric services on this general hospital site in accordance with national mental health policy.
