Guild House IFSC

The design of Guild House office building, located facing east over the restored Royal Canal Basin at Spencer Dock, is a direct response to the building height restriction, the depth of the site and the minimum flood level for Dublin, resulting in deep plan building.

Expertise

The building is split vertically, to provide flexibility for letting, with a linear atrium allowing daylight into all internal areas. The lighter colour of the Portuguese limestone cladding is a welcome contrast to the more sombre granite, blue limestone and cast-iron detailing of the adjacent Victorian canal architecture.

The roof garden, which overlooks Spencer Dock and beyond to the Dublin Mountains, creates a quiet recreational space for use by the occupants.
