RIAI Scott Tallon Walker Student Excellence Award in Architecture 2019

Scott Tallon Walker are delighted to have sponsored the RIAI Scott Tallon Walker Student Excellence Award for Architecture 2019. The awards aim to promote the study of contemporary architecture, encourage and foster architectural excellence among the student body and to provide a basis for growing awareness of architecture in society.

The Jury were greeted this year by a diverse range of entries, thesis explorations which addressed a spectrum of contemporary cultural and social issues both in Ireland and abroad. The exploration undertook by students during their final year of study demonstrated an admirable depth of thought and conceptual development, culminating in a set of engaging architectural propositions.

The winning entry, submitted by Megan Quirey of UCD, has a wonderful magical quality which emanates the exquisite drawings and powerful graphics drawing you into an imagined world. Jennifer Whittaker’s entry was Highly Commended and Sam Le Bas received a Commendation.
