How We Work


Internal Teams

Design teams are handpicked by the Managing Director, Michael Tallon, based on the requirements of the individual project and the relevant expertise of the individual Directors and other designers. These individuals will have been chosen for their proven track record over many years in the practice, their creativity and attention to detail, and their delivery and management skills. Working closely with the Directors are a younger generation of Associates who are central to the continuing evolution of the practice and provide a key role in the day-to-day progress of all projects.

Teams are not shaped by specialisation of building type. Each team has a rich cross-section of projects – large and small. This diversity is good for creativity, innovation and motivation. The tight-knit nature of the teams also ensures personal service and close contact between the design team and the client, from the first meetings to the hand-over of the finished building.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Peer Review

The design of each project is reviewed regularly, both formally and informally. This process takes place under the guidance of the Directors who meet weekly. Projects are presented in the spirit of 'challenging and being challenged' and the process ensures that the combined knowledge and experience of all Directors is applied to all projects. Further reviewing takes place throughout the design and construction stages where in-house quality control procedures are applied at critical milestones (eg building regulation conformance checks.)

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Groups

To ensure the practice remains at the leading edge in specialist subjects, we structure those with particular interests and skills into specialist groups, who promote, communicate and advise on continued best practice. Groups work with project teams through a ‘charette’ process, at various stages of a project. Collaboration

When faced with particular challenges that are not part of our portfolio, we offer our clients the additional added strength of strategic collaborations, to ensure the best available experience is brought to bear on a project.

Equally, we are an obvious choice when others seek a design partner capable of delivering a complicated project in Ireland or Europe from a distant base.

Our developed system of collaboration is now being used to greater effect as we become more active throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

We believe that a successful collaborative approach is directly dependent on common visions and goals, a single leadership team, sharing common procedures and measures taken to track improvement, so providing added value to the project, where everyone has a sense of belonging to one team.
