Scott Tallon Walker Architects has recently expanded its expertise in the provision of sport and event centres to include projects that now appear on the international stage.
As part of our substantial portfolio, our practice has designed and delivered sport centres for many institutions including Trinity College, Dublin, The National University of Ireland, Galway and at RTE , (Ireland’s national television and radio broadcasting company) creating multi-functional buildings suitable not only for use for indoor sports, but also as theatres, examination halls, student facilities and other such activities.
In 2004, Scott Tallon Walker Architects , with Populous (formally HOK SVE ), won the international competition for the design and delivery of the new Aviva Stadium at Lansdowne Road , which was completed in April 2010.
The business model for the new stadium requires its 63,000 sq.m. of internal accommodation to compete with purpose-built conference and event centres. This scale fully engaged the broad experience base within Scott Tallon Walker , from university facilities to theatres and hotels, through to television and radio studios, to be applied to the development of multi-use flexible spaces suitable for creating an efficient and considered backdrop to all event requirements.
The broad base of experience within Scott Tallon Walker Architects , combined with innovative knowledge of sports stadium and conference centre design, enables us to provide clients with leading design solutions.
