Scott Tallon Walker Architects has over 50 year's masterplanning experience. Our range of projects include both greenfield and urban: university, healthcare, science, technology and business campuses, as well as residential, mixed-use communities.
Our approach is that masterplanning is part of an ongoing evolving process of change and development that allows flexibility for growth and change over time. For example, since 1960, we have produced a series of masterplanning strategies for the RTE campus at Donnybrook, Dublin 4. These have allowed the RTE organisation to grow and evolve, responding to changing technology and in hand with progressive work practices.
As part of our process we consider the location and composition of buildings, flexibility for buildings to expand and change over time, within an overall planning framework, based on clear architectural, landscape and infrastructural principles. This involves us working closely with the client on identifying short, medium and long-term objectives, which then become design guidelines.
Our practice works at varying scales and levels of detail, taking an overall strategic view one moment, to zooming into the detail at the next. Some projects involve a high soft landscape component, while others involve a more urban hierarchical public realm strategy. Whatever the project, as Design Team leaders, we take a holistic overall coordinated approach.
