Scott Tallon Walker

Art in Architecture

One of the core principles of the practice, since its inception in 1928, is the integration of Art and Architecture.

The procurement route can vary from purchasing artworks through galleries, purchasing directly from the artist or commissioning site specific works. The commissioning of site specific works has enabled us to develop an expertise in the preparation of briefs and in the management of invited competitions.

This core principle of incorporating Art in Architecture is not confined to office buildings and has been achieved in most building types: industrial, hotels, healthcare, offices, universities, radio/television studios and theatres.

Close collaboration with a wide variety of emerging and established artists has enabled Scott Tallon Walker to produce a considerable number of projects that have been enriched and enhanced by the incorporation of art into the working environment and into the wider public realm.
