On the project being announced as the recipient of the award, Paul Connolly, Project Director said: “This award is testament to the talented team we have at Scott Tallon Walker Architects. The design solution navigated the intricacies of an inner-city site, a live hospital, a new entrance, and streetscape in a prominent conservation area while providing a seamless link over eight floors to the existing hospital. Delivered amid the pandemic under the constraints of a two-year programme, the new Rock Wing delivered 98 single-occupancy rooms for an additional 5000 patients annually, reducing the impact on critical services within the hospital and wider community.”
Thank you to the Building & Architect of the Year Awards for this award.
